Session Moderators, Speakers, and Bios

Ken Baker
Ken Baker has been working in energy efficiency since 1977 and directly and continuously with energy cods since 1986. He is a managing partner of Idaho based Open Spaces Northwest.

Christie Baumel
Christie Baumel supports USDN members and partners on projects that help advance member progress on critical energy issues. Prior to joining USDN, she served as Climate & Energy Advisor for the City of Seattle, where she guided programs and policies to reduce energy and carbon pollution in buildings. She has also worked as a land use planner and with the public and the non-profit sectors on community development and environmental protection. She has a Master's degree from the University of Washington in Urban Planning.

Ian Blanding
Ian Blanding is the Senior Building Policy Associate for MEEA's Building Energy Codes Team. In his role, Ian tracks and disseminates new information about energy code policies, develops technical resources and provides assistance to state and municipal governments within the Midwest during the adoption process of the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). He holds a Master of Community Planning degree from the University of Cincinnati and a B.S. in Environmental Policy and Public Administration from Central Michigan University. Ian is an avid marathon runner, and enjoys spending time in nature while backpacking, hiking and biking.

Sharon Bonesteel
Sharon has been a strong supporter of adopting energy codes within her employer's territory (SRP is an electric utility provider in Arizona) and within the state of Arizona and nationally through ICC I-Code development process. Sharon is active in the Arizona Building Officials (AZBO) organization in the state. She is on the AZBO education committee where she leads the selection committee of topics and instructors for the twice-a-year week long educational training programs. Sharon is an ambassador to building officials and the building industry on the importance of energy codes. Sharon is currently leading a cross departmental energy storage team on innovative battery technologies and potential research and deployment opportunities at SRP.

Michelle Britt
Michelle Britt is the Director of Energy Programs at the International Code Council. She has over 15 years experience impacting building energy use and broader sustainability. She has served national, state and local governments, industry, and non-profits across the US and the Pacific. Previously, she was a partner with the Britt/Makela Group and a Senior Research Scientist with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and a Master's degree in Architecture.

Mike Browne
Mike Browne holds a B.S. in Material Science and Engineering from Brown University. He is the founder of ABA. Previously, Mike worked in traditional woodworking and then architectural woodworking and CNC programming for 10 years. Returning to engineering, Mike then studied for and passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Test and completed the training and certification for RESNET energy raters. As more and more energy efficiency alternatives become available, Mike is excited to be able to help local builders and home owners quantify their options and take advantage of the best construction practices and the best funding assistance programs available(tax credits, rebates, grants and energy efficient mortgages). Mike is a RESNET certified Energy Rater and Provider as well as the first 2012 NGBS accredited rater in Massachusetts. He is also a certified PHIUS+ rater, and has trained in Infrared Imaging at the world training headquarters of FLIR in Billerica, MA. Mike is also President and board member of Energy Raters of Massachusetts, Inc., a RESNET accredited HERS Provider that specifically caters to Independent HERS Raters working in Massachusetts.

Chris Burgess
Chris is MEEA's Senior Building Policy Manager, working with stakeholder groups to improve energy code compliance for new residential and commercial buildings. He is a licensed architect and a LEED Accredited Professional. Chris began his career at a Chicago neighborhood development not-for-profit, working as the Program Director for their construction trades training program. He has also worked as a historic restoration architect, where projects included the restoration of a number of Frank Lloyd Wright buildings. For the last 20 years Chris has been in private practice, working on commercial and residential buildings throughout the Great Lakes region, educating his clients about integrating energy efficiency and the principles of sustainable design into their projects. Chris has also served on the Board of Directors at the Center for Neighborhood Technology and as the chair of their publications committee. Chris earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology and holds an NCARB Certificate.

Ed Carley
Ed Carley is the Buildings Program Manager for the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO). Mr. Carley works with State Energy Offices across the U.S. to support their energy goals in building energy efficiency, energy codes, home energy labeling and more. Mr. Carley is responsible for NASEO's codes work including providing energy code technical support to State Energy Offices, leading an energy code field study in Texas, and integration of codes into state energy planning.

Kimberly Cheslak
As IMT's Energy Codes Specialist, Kim is responsible for developing and implementing IMT's vision and solidifying IMT as a leader related to building energy codes. She does this through overseeing projects, managing key partner relationships, and directly supporting local governments to maximize savings through adoption of and compliance with code.

Mike Collignon
Mike Collignon is the Executive Director of the Green Builder® Coalition, an organization he co-founded in 2010. He engages in national and state-level advocacy, publishes monthly content for Green Builder® Media, and is the Chair of the WERS® Development Group. He has presented at numerous energy, water and sustainability events around the country. Mike has also delivered testimony at the IECC and IgCC final action hearings. Finally, he has served as the host for Green Builder® Media's Impact Series webinars since 2013.

Jeff Domanski
Jeffrey Domanski is a Senior Manager of Energy and Sustainability programs at IBTS, a not-for-profit focused on serving municipal governments and other organizations. Jeff is a multi-disciplined environmental professional with nearly 30 years of experience focused on resource conservation strategies in the built environment, project management, curriculum development, and teaching and training. His areas of expertise include the use of behavioral, organizational, financial, communications, and technological strategies. His work at IBTS includes projects focused on municipal programs for energy efficiency and renewable energy strategies and professional education and training programs. He has worked in-house and as consultant to public, private, and academic organizations. He has served as a primary energy and sustainability subject matter expert for numerous large and globally-recognized organizations, including the U.S. Department of Energy, Connecticut Energy and Finance Investment Authority/Green Bank, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, New York State Department of Transportation, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania, Cushman & Wakefield, and The World Bank. He is a LEED AP with specialty in both new building design and existing building operations and is an expert in human behavior-focused strategies, which he has used to increase technology use and program participation. Jeff is a LEED AP, received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from SUNY ESF at Syracuse, and a Master in Public Administration (MPA) from Princeton University. He proudly served in the U.S. Peace Corps as a science and math teach in Fiji.

Sharon Grant
Sharon Patterson Grant, LEED AP BD+C and Homes, has been providing green building consulting and education since 2006 when she founded her company Eco Edge. She later joined Ken Baker and Suzie Hall in Green Steps (now Open Spaces NW) to consult with the largest commercial property owners and managers in Idaho to adopt strategic energy management. Both companies specialize in facilitating greater adoption of sustainable building practices through education, strategic planning, coaching, outreach, and organizational transformation.

Scott Jarman
Over the past 11 years Scott has been delivering all aspects of Utility Demand Side Management programs at Austin Energy. He has been a project developer overseeing energy conservation, solar, and energy storage projects. He has developed and managed energy conservation and DSM program planning studies and evaluations. Scott manages Demand Response systems and programs including smart thermostats. Scott is active and participates with organizations and alliances such as EPRI, PLMA, Open ADR Alliance, and SPEER.

John Jennings
John Jennings is a Senior Product Manager at Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, where he develops market transformation initiatives for commercial new construction and renovation. He is currently working on an enhanced building codes initiative and an HVAC initiative. A recent effort was deep energy retrofits for large buildings. He has been at NEEA since 1997.

Gerald Kettler
Gerald J. Kettler has over 40 years of management and professional level experience in the design, construction, testing, commissioning, and operation of physical facilities. He is a licensed professional engineer in nine states and certified in many specialties including commissioning, test and balance and environmental management. He has performed commissioning authority and other USGBC LEED administration functions for over 300 LEED projects and is a LEED Fellow.

Alison Lindburg
Alison Lindburg is the Building Policy Manager at MEEA, where she works to improve energy efficiency in buildings in the Midwest via energy codes and market transformation strategies such as energy benchmarking. Prior to MEEA, Alison was the director of the Buildings policy program at Minnesota non-profit organization Fresh Energy and also served on the Board of Directors for the US Green Building Council of Minnesota and the Technical Advisory Committee of the GreenStar residential remodeling standard. Previously Alison was a program director for Minnesota non-profit Dovetail Partners, working in rural areas to promote sustainability and local economic development through green building demonstration projects, community education, and contractor training. Prior to Dovetail, Alison worked for a Twin-Cities urban development firm, where she helped write and implement their green building program. Alison has a BA in Architecture with a focus on sustainable design, and a minor in Spanish from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. In her spare time, Alison paints, plays piano, reads science fiction, and practices yoga.

Eric Makela
Eric is an Associate Director for New Buildings Institute. He has over 30 years of building energy codes expertise throughout the United States as well as abroad, including Abu Dhabi, Fiji, and Bahrain. Over his career he has provided consulting services for the building, architectural, and engineering industry on energy efficiency related issues in California, the Pacific Northwest, Nevada, and Utah. He supports NBI's broader engagement in code development, with a new emphasis on stretch codes and multifamily code adoption. He also continues his lead of the Northwest Energy Codes Group in developing code change proposals to the International Energy Conservation Code on behalf of NEEA.

Ryan Meres
Ryan Meres has 12 years of experience in energy efficiency, energy policy and building energy codes and has published more than two dozen case studies, reports and resources on those topics. As the Program Director for RESNET, Ryan currently leads numerous programs, including implementation of RESNET's Appraiser Portal and auto-populating HERS Index scores into Multiple Listing Services; as well as initiatives to get energy efficiency valued in the real estate transaction process. Prior to joining RESNSET, Ryan spent nearly six years at the Institute for Market Transformation (IMT) where he led energy code development, adoption and compliance efforts at the city, state and national levels. Prior to joining IMT, Ryan was an ICC Fellow at the U.S. Department of Energy, Building Energy Codes Program. Ryan also worked at the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) as a Building Codes Consultant where he led the adoption and implementation of statewide energy and green building codes. Ryan successfully completed a HERS class in 2007 and served as an EarthCraft House Technical Advisor at the Southface Energy Institute, conducting insulation and air sealing inspections and building envelope and duct leakage testing for builders. He is a LEED Accredited Professional, an ICC Certified Residential Energy Inspector/Plans Examiner and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Ryan lives in upstate New York with his wife, Amanda, and their three children.

Jim Meyers
Jim Meyers has been working in energy efficiency since the late 1980's and has worked with energy codes at the state, local and national level while participating in ICC committees. Jim is the director of the buildings program at the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project.

Richard Morgan
Richard Morgan is the Sr. Energy Codes Manager for the South-central Partnership for Energy Efficiency as a Resource (SPEER), the Regional Energy Efficiency Organization serving Texas and Oklahoma. Richard is responsible for increasing local energy code adoption and compliance in Texas and Oklahoma. Richard is the SPEER lead on the DOE Energy Codes Field Study for Texas. Prior to joining SPEER Richard was the Green Building and Sustainability Manager for Austin Energy, the municipal electric utility for the City of Austin, TX. Richard has participated in many regional and national green building and energy code working groups and committees including acting as Chair of the Energy Working Group of the ICC Sustainable Building Technology Committee for the development of the first version of the International Green Construction Code.

Rebecca Morris
Rebecca graduated from North Carolina State University, receiving her degree in Environmental Design in Architecture in 2011, and her Bachelor of Architecture in 2012. In the fall of 2010, she studied abroad in Prague, Czech Republic. Her semester-long project focused on the redevelopment of a communist-era neighborhood, which sparked her interest in both community development and affordable housing. After graduation and prior to working at TightLines, she worked for six months as an intern for a small, residential architecture firm in Durham, NC. At TightLines, Rebecca focuses on affordable senior and multi-family community projects, as well as single-family homes across the Southeast. Rebecca provides design support for both TightLines Designs and its commercial affiliate, Maurer Architecture. She is a licensed Architect in Georgia.

Shaunna Mozingo
Shaunna Mozingo is an independent consultant who provides energy code technical assistance and training to code officials, builders, Energy Raters and designers both locally and around the United States. Shaunna has served as a building inspector for the U.S. Department of Energy's Solar Decathlon Competitions and served as the inspector for the China Solar Decathlon Competition. She has been awarded the DOE NECC Jeffrey A. Johnson Award, IMT and ICC's Standard Bearer's Award for her efforts in compliance with energy codes as well as the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project's Award for Leadership in Energy Codes.

Ed Osann
Ed Osann is a Senior Water Policy Analyst with NRDC's Healthy Communities Program, leading work on water use efficiency through building codes, product standards, utility incentive programs, and conservation pricing for water and wastewater service. His previous experiences include establishing Potomac Resources, a consultancy focused on energy and water efficiency, and positions with the National Wildlife Federation and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. He was coordinator for the Steering Committee for Water Efficient Products, a coalition of manufacturers, water utilities, and environmental organizations advocating for the creation of EPA's WaterSense program and has served on numerous technical panels and committees, including for IAPMO, ISO, and AWWA. Ed's master's degree is from George Washington University and BS from Georgetown University.

Chris Perry
Chris Perry is a Senior Analyst at ACEEE supporting work on commercial and residential building and equipment energy-efficiency codes and standards. In addition, he conducts research on HVAC and water heating equipment and smart building systems. He joined ACEEE in 2015. Prior to joining ACEEE, Chris performed energy modeling and energy audits for commercial buildings. Chris earned a bachelor of science in industrial engineering from Pennsylvania State University, and is currently pursuing his masters in engineering management from George Washington University.

Curt Rich
As President and CEO of the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), which represents the $8 billion U.S. fiber glass and mineral wool insulation industry, Curt oversees all activities relating to the promotion of fiber glass and mineral wool insulation to all key stakeholders including policymakers, code officials, building industry professionals and consumers. In addition, he champions policies and legislation that encourage the use of insulation to increase energy efficiency and sustainability. Curt serves on the RESNET and Alliance to Save Energy Boards of Directors.

Dave Roberts
Dave Roberts is a Senior Engineer at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory where he serves as Group Manager of Residential Buildings Research. NREL Residential Buildings Research focuses on accelerating the adoption of cost-effective energy efficiency technologies and practices into the U.S. home building and retrofit markets. Dave has been working in the area of energy efficiency in buildings since 1989 and is a registered Professional Engineer in Colorado. He has expertise in building energy simulation, building science and software development. Prior to joining NREL, Dave worked for Architectural Energy Corporation where he led energy simulation and software development projects, and served as product manager for the REM/Rate™ home energy rating software.

Christina Rohrbacher
Christina joined NEEP at the end of 2017 and works to organize stakeholders in NEEP's region around residential building energy codes, residential energy labeling efforts, and the HELIX project. She advances the latest energy code adoption at the state level through organizing and facilitating the code adoption and compliance process. Christina participates in various regional, state, and local stakeholder groups to share best practices, disseminate technical assistance, and ensure the needs of these various stakeholders are taken into account. Before joining NEEP, Christina worked at HomeWorks Energy, a Mass Save Home Performance Contractor in Medford, MA, as a marketing manager. There, she built partnerships with cities and towns in Massachusetts to help them reach their residential energy efficiency goals. Prior to this, she was an AmeriCorps VISTA Coordinator of Volunteer Programs at New Entry Sustainable Farming Project in Lowell, MA. She graduated with her B.A. in History from UMass Lowell, and is currently pursuing her Master's in Sustainability at the Harvard Extension School.

Anthony Roy
Anthony Roy is the Director of Programs at Earth Advantage. Anthony leads research, education, policy, and new program initiatives for the organization. Prior to joining Earth Advantage, he held senior level positions at energy and sustainability consulting firms in Portland, New York City, and Seattle. Anthony began his career managing sustainability programs at the City of Portland. He received a BA degree from Northwestern University and a degree in International Environmental Law from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland (UK).

Jonah Schein
Jonah Schein is the Technical Coordinator for Homes & Buildings at the U.S. EPA's WaterSense® Program. He has overseen the technical development and implementation of the WaterSense Homes specification and certification system since their inception. He is also responsible for efforts to expand the WaterSense program's reach in the multi-family and commercial sectors through analytics, modeling, and benchmarking. Prior to joining EPA in 2008, Mr. Schein served as the Director of Outreach for Earth Day Network (EDN) where he was responsible for a number of initiatives to promote water efficiency through green building strategies in the United States and Middle East. He holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from Indiana University as well as a Master of Science in Environmental Science from the Johns Hopkins University.

Bob Schultz
Since joining PNNL in 1986, Bob Schultz has participated in a variety of projects focused in the areas of building science, energy policy and conservation analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and software development. Currently, Bob supports the Building Energy Codes Program as a software engineer responsible for advancing and maintaining the COMcheck/REScheck energy code compliance software, and for researching and evaluating energy efficiency opportunities for the U.S. Army Reserves Comprehensive Energy and Water Evaluation program. He also supports the Facility Energy Decision System (FEDS) assessment tool as a software engineer.

Robby Schwarz
Robby Schwarz is a principle with EnergyLogic, Inc. a Colorado based energy services organization primarily serving the residential construction industry. For the last 20+ years he has worked in the building performance, applied building science and system thinking field helping Builders, Code jurisdictions, and Homeowners understand how their houses perform. Currently Robby is Director of Builder Relations for EnergyLogic; the largest energy rating and building consulting firm of its kind in Colorado.

Elliot Seibert
Elliot Seibert is the implementation manager for the ENERGY STAR Certified New Homes program at the US Environmental Protection Agency, where he focuses on technical development and quality assurance. Before joining the ENERGY STAR team, Elliot was a HERS rater and quality assurance designee and, with his background in mechanical engineering and building science, supported mechanical system design, building system commissioning and comprehensive energy audits. His hands-on experience informs ENERGY STAR's practical, partner-focused approach.

Brad Smith
Brad is the Energy Code Compliance Specialist working with Fort Collins Utilities and the Fort Collins Building Department. He has many years of experience in the energy services sector as a residential HERS Rater for new construction and home efficiency audits on existing homes. Along with his RESNET HERS Rater certification he holds certifications as ICC Residential Energy Inspector & Plans Examiner, Energy Star certified Rater, and has extensive training and experience as a BPI Building Analyst, TYVEK Certified WRB Installer/Warranty Certification and City of Fort Collins HVAC System Performance testing.

Rodney Sobin
Rodney Sobin is a Senior Program Director at the National Association of State Energy Officials where he works on energy efficiency as an emission reduction approach among other clean energy topics. At NASEO and previously as Director of Research and Regulatory Affairs at the Alliance to Save Energy, he has worked in such areas as building energy codes; efficiency standards; utility programs; evaluation, measurement and verification (EM&V); technological innovation; industrial efficiency; rural energy; energy productivity; and state and local policies. His prior experiences included energy and environmental work at the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, Concurrent Technologies Corporation, the congressional Office of Technology Assessment, and the World Resources Institute. He holds two Master's degrees from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor's degree from Cornell University.

Poppy Storm
Poppy Storm is the Director of Policy and Planning at Ecotope. She manages this group with a focus on policy innovation and ensuring the quality and integrity of Ecotope studies. Ms. Storm has an interdisciplinary background in baseline studies, impact evaluations, survey research, billing analysis, project management, whole systems design, regional coordination, emerging technology research, and carbon reduction planning. She managed the development of a commercial code evaluation methodology for the Northwest region. She also managed the development of dedicated outside air system (DOAS) code changes to the 2015 Washington State Energy Code which developed new approaches to commercial building mechanical systems.

Becca Trietch
Becca Trietch serves as an Energy Efficiency Administrator at the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources (OER), where she helps develop and oversee policies and programs that improve energy efficiency throughout the state. OER works closely with private and public stakeholders to increase the reliability and security of Rhode Island's energy system; reduce long-term energy costs; and promote adoption of clean, no-to-low carbon energy solutions, while balancing ratepayer and environmental impacts. Recently she coordinated the development of Rhode Island's first stretch code and she continues to actively support voluntary building energy labeling and energy code compliance throughout the Ocean State. Becca has a Masters in Environmental Science and Management with a concentration in Policy from the University of Rhode Island. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Yale University.

Jason Vandever
Jason is the Energy Code Program Manager for SPEER. He has over 15 years combined experience in building construction and inspection. Jason was the Chief Building Official for the City of Granbury for four years and serves on the NCTCOG Energy and Green Advisory Board. He maintains nine (9) ICC certifications and is a Certified Building Official. Jason has a MBA from Texas Tech University.

Ellen Vaughan
Ellen Larson Vaughan launched the High Performance Green Building Initiative in 2008 at the nonprofit Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) in Washington, DC, to bring more attention to the building sector's large role in energy consumption, fossil fuel emissions and climate change. In promoting public policies to increase energy efficiency and renewable energy use in buildings, Ms. Vaughan also works to ensure that energy goals are integrated with other important building performance goals, such as resilience, health and affordability. Currently, she is collaborating with EESI colleagues and others to develop and advance policy solutions for sustainable and resilient infrastructure in all U.S. economic sectors. Ms. Vaughan has spent more than 20 years working on building-related policy issues for national organizations, including the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), and Steven Winter Associates, Inc. (SWA), one of the nation's leading firms in building technology/energy research, design and consulting. At SWA, Ms. Vaughan was part of the management team and a moving force behind the Passive Solar Industries Council (PSIC) and its successor, the Sustainable Buildings Industry Council (SBIC). She helped develop and conduct the first workshops on high performance K-12 school buildings and organized a two-day peer review that resulted in the first LEED (V.1) Platinum building. Ms. Vaughan was a key figure in the early development of the web-based Whole Building Design Guide (which now resides with the National Institute of Building Sciences); federal statutory language on high performance buildings; and many of the coalitions formed since then. She has participated on National Academy panels, testified before the U.S. Congress, and authored or coauthored a number of articles on buildings and energy including "Beyond Green: High Performance Buildings", published in the fall 2009 issue of the MIT Press journal, Innovations, and "Advancing a Blueprint for High-Performance Homes", published in Issues in Science and Technology (Winter 2012).

Gayathri Vijayakumar
Gayathri Vijayakumar is a Principal Mechanical Engineer at Steven Winter Associates, Inc. and has twelve years of experience in evaluating residential and multifamily buildings with an emphasis on high-performance buildings and renewable energy systems. Ms. Vijayakumar provides technical assistance on sustainability projects by overseeing energy modeling and conducting analyses of costs and benefits of energy efficient measures in both new and existing residential construction. Using her knowledge of state and utility sponsored incentives and financing (e.g., Connecticut's Green Bank and EnergizeCT), she assists projects in obtaining loans and incentives associated with energy efficiency and renewable systems. She further provides consulting to federal, state, and local agencies and programs to develop emerging standards and procedures that involve energy efficiency requirements, including the EPA's ENERGY STAR® Multifamily High Rise Program, where she has provided technical support since 2008.Ms. Vijayakumar also supports SWA's role as a RESNET Accredited Rating Quality Assurance Provider. Ms. Vijayakumar is an active contributor to various technical committees that share a goal of improving codes and standards. She currently is a member of the ASHRAE 62.2 Multifamily Working Group, chair of RESNET's Multifamily Sub-Committee, and chair of RESNET's Standards Development Committee, SDC300.

Lauren Westmoreland
Lauren Westmoreland is the Director of Built Environment for the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance (SEEA), one of six regional energy efficiency organizations (REEOs). At SEEA, Lauren assists with the development of new energy code adoption, implementation or compliance programs to meet a state's specific needs and delivers technical assistance. She also engages a wide range of technical stakeholders to better understand barriers of energy code compliance. In addition, Lauren collaborates with national, regional and local groups to share resources and lessons learned. Lauren is a licensed North Carolina Architect, a HERS Rater and a LEED AP BD+C. Previously, she trained the construction industry on energy code and above-code program requirements, tested 200+ homes for energy efficiency programs, and managed the development of educational and training materials for a variety of local, state and national energy efficiency programs.

Jeremy Williams
Jeremy Williams is an Analyst with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Building Technologies Office. He oversees projects related to building energy efficiency and specializes in energy codes and standards for residential and commercial buildings. For the past 7 years, he has represented the Department in its code development activities, including the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and Standard 90.1. He is a current voting member on the Standard 90.1 and National Green Building Standard technical committees. Jeremy also has a particular interest in code compliance, leading a collection of projects to help quantify savings and ensure their benefits are realized by U.S. homes and businesses. His educational background includes an M.S. in Construction Management from Michigan State University, and a B.S. degree in Business & Education. Prior to joining DOE, he was a high school science instructor, teaching courses in chemistry & physics.

Justin Wilson
Justin Wilson is a Principal Partner and the Vice President of Construction Instruction. As our Operations Expert, he leads research initiatives and company operations. In 2017 our Ci team opened "Ci Live" in Phoenix, AZ; a new state of the art hands on training facility and research lab. Justin works with national and regional builders on new construction of residential and commercial buildings and forensic investigations on building sites all over North America to find solutions to problems in the building processes that affect energy, comfort, and durability. He also uses this insight to work with leading building product manufacturers on new product development, product refinements, installation and maintenance guidelines.

Keith Winston
Keith Winston has been a Green Building Inspector with the Green Building Program in Washington DC for 4 years. He also does plan review and facilitation of solar permitting in the city, as well as code development work at a local and national scale. He is a Master Code Professional, HERS Rater, LEED AP, holds degrees in Physics and Ecological Economics, and has developed many of the tools and technologies that the Green Building Program uses in its compliance efforts.
